When your mom and dad told Uncle Nate and I that they were expecting a baby, I was so excited for them!  But I was also so scared because our lives were changing and going down different paths.  But, then you came, and none of that mattered because being your aunt has been such a fulfilling role for me.  We're like your second set of parents, a slightly cooler version of your mom and dad because we give you anything you want (strawberries, whipped cream straight from the can, one thousand chips, and endless hours of playing with BB-8 and watching Octonauts...yes you've taught me all I need to know about Octonauts).  

Being with you makes me feel like a little girl again!

We didn't even think we wanted kids. Yes, that is how this love story starts. Let's be clear, you were our best decision ever. But it wasn't a straight path, and you should know all the ups and downs that life has to offer. So this is a journal of our thoughts and ideas, our pictures, our stories, our drunk dials. This is a list of secrets and grievances and bad theories. It is detours and nonsense, the answers to your math test, the reasons I won't be telling you Disneyland exists, advice on skincare (sunscreen, my darling. Every day.) It is the sum total of all wisdom.
You are so lucky to have us.
